Obscure thrash metal have become like a pet peeve for me over the years. And few bands fit more into this category then Apocalypse from Switzerland. This is their self-titled debut, and it was released on 2 different labels, with different artwork. Apocalypse play thrash metal is it's purest form. They lean as much towards the European version of the genre (you know, fast and "dirty") as they do the American thrash metal variety (incorporating more mid-paced stuff, and melodies). At times they remind me quite a lot of Witchhammer. It might be due to the vocalist, with his clean, yet raw pipes, at times sounds a bit like Per Ståle. The album is a bit uneven, and it does sport some fillers. But for the most, this is just what you'd expect to hear from a relatively unknown thrash metal band from the late 80's. Those who are into this know what I mean.

Killer tracks: Digital Life, A Tale Of A Nightmare, The Night Before, Apocalypse
