Found this 2 track demo roaming the inventory over at Nordic Mission. Apparently this is the only recording this Swedish band has to show for, as they have now changed their name. However, I did manage to find a third song, called "Violent Prayer", on www.last.fm.

Artocreatis play melodic metal/hard rock, with progressive leanings. Both songs are very well written, and make me wanna hear more. The songs are structured around the melodic vocals, with strong guitar-work, and very progressive drumming. The keyboards are fortunately not distracting, but create a nice backdrop to the music. The only downside to the demo is the heavy Swedish accent of singer, Lars Granat. He has a great voice, and with more experience I think he will become a highly acclaimed vocalist.

Artocreatis reminds me of the Norwegian band, Sagittarius. But one could also liken them to other acts such as Flagship, and maybe even Modest Attraction. Artocreatis also shares lyrical ideals with the latter 2, namely a Christian foundation. Too bad this is all we'll ever hear from them. However, since I liked this demo so much, I think I'll check into Slave Halo, which is the name they use now. They have even re-recorded "Death Aghast" for their first demo EP.

'Rest In Peace' comes in a cardboard slipcover. The CD-R has a cool vinyl replica look.
