Attic Symphony is a new instrumental project, featuring Robert Bussey and Dan Wilkerson (Taker, Armageddon). Their self titled album contains newly recorded versions of old material from the repertoire of their former band, Taker. "Epic Propulsion" is a new track. As for the others, some of them go as far back as 1987. And I think that you can really hear it too. Not that it sounds dated or anything, but most of the songs certainly have the vibe of the melodic metal from the mid- to late 80's. And I can't believe I haven't heard this material before! Well, it might not be that strange. After all, Taker's only international exposure ever was the 2 songs featured on the 'East Coast Metal' compilation on Regency Records. But their music sounds very appealing, and I really thing that this project can raise some memories, and a hunger for more, by old and new fans of Taker and Attic Symphony. Also worth noticing is that most of the songs have been renamed. And the original intended title for this release was 'Retrospective'. Fans of Chris Manning and Tony Palacios should definitely check this album out!
