Blood Tsunami hails out of Norway. The band was formed in Oslo in 2004. 2 demos were released, before the debut album, aptly entitled 'Thrash Metal', came out in 2007. Their singer, Pete Evil, is also the host for Headbanger's Ball on Norwegian MTV. The name was inspired by the lyrics to the Turbonegro song, "Drenched in Blood".

Blood Tsunami came crashing into the scene much thanks to MySpace. I'd not even heard of this Norwegian thrash metal band 'til an internet acquaintance from the US told me about them, wondering if I had their demo. Sadly, I had to answer no, but was of course intrigued to hear this band. A little time went by, and suddenly they had a first born full-length album out, to rave reviews in the thrash metal circuits. And this time I was not going to be left out, I had to buy the CD! Turns out Blood Tsunami play an aggressive form of thrash metal, combining just about everything you'd ever think about hearing the title of the album. I can hear Bay Area influences, heavy Slayer influences, German influences and even some more modern neo-thrash influences. Yes, this is a blend of everything thrash, and it's all enhanced by a solid production. Every tune is blistering fast, but yet with enough music finesse to to make it sound interesting all the way through. Steadily led by the excellent drumming from Faust (ex-Emperor), every member here brings forth their signature to the mix. The vocals are of the shouted/sneered kind, and they fit the brutal music good. My only complaint must be that the album, and especially the vocal style can get a bit samey. And I'm of course no fan of the lyrical stance these guys have taken. But this is a minor complaint, as I find myself thrashing away to most of these tracks. And can any self respecting headbanger sit still when these guys plays up for moshing with songs like "Rampage Of Revenge" and "Infernal Final Carnage". Heck, I even love the 10 minute long instrumental track!

Killer tracks: Rampage Of Revenge, Infernal Final Carnage, Godbeater
