Death metal band from Liverpool, England. Started out in 1985 as one of the most brutal death/grind/gore bands, but evolved into one of the best melodic death metal bands ever. The band is no longer active, but members can be found in Arch Enemy and Blackstar and others.

New record company and new sound. I don't quite like the former Carcass records. I even got rid of one from my collection, because it was too fast/hard/brutal. But this album is fabulous. You get an excellent production, style-setting and groundbreaking songwriting. Melodic death metal at it's best. This is the band In Flames, and others like them, spawned from. The only album that sounds quite this good, is Carcass' next effort. ENJOY!

A short EP released after the 'Heartwork' album. I got it in a trade, because I've read that it is a pretty rare item. Gotta love that 2 of the tracks are exclusive to this release. I do suspect that both "This Is Your Life" and especially "Rot 'n' Roll" got rearranged, and recorded for "Swansong".

This was Carcass' eh...well, Swansong. The record company fired them, they didn't get along with each other, things were bound to happen. Too bad really, 'cause this is, besides 'Heartwork', their best release. Truly brutal, yet melodic death, with the genre's best grind-voice. Check out 'Keep On Rotting...' (great title) and 'Black Star' (which eventually became the new band name for some of the members) to get hooked. PLAY IT LOUD!
