Dark Endless started as an idea in 1999 by the sole member, Darkend. Since no one was playing black metal the way he liked it in the Christian scene, he decided to do it him self. So after going through ideas, experimenting with sounds, he began writing and recording. It took several years of writing, rewriting, breaking tapes, and re-recording, but finally 6 demo songs saw the light of day in 2002. In 2004 Bombworks Records remastered and re-released the demo 'Dark End Times'.

'Dark End Times' fills a gap in the Christian Black Metal Scene. Without any further comparisons, this is the first old school black metal release since Horde's legendary 'Hellig Usvart' release from 1994. But other than the fact that the members of both bands works under pseudonyms, and tries/tried to be anonymous (one more successful then the other it seems), these are still quite different releases. 'Dark End Times' are 5 (hey, what happened to the sixth demo track?!!) relentless old school black metal efforts. No keyboards, only a grim and blistering black metal sound. I would not call this necro or cold, but rather rickety and underground sounding. What is really great with the recording is that you can easily hear all the different instruments. Darkends voice is fitting to the music, but yet that is not his most prominent tool. His drumming is excellent in every way, and he is not too shabby as a guitarist and bass-player either. All of the tracks are very well written, with enough variety to keep it interesting. and although they are recording during a 2 year period, they sound like they were all done at the same time. This is old school indeed, but yet I think he has added a slightly more melodic (if you can call this music melodic) touch to his songs. Call it mood swings if you like. I look forward to hear a full length album by Dark Endless.
