Formed as Screamin' Eden back in 1991. Eden recorded their debut-album in 1994. Fronted by vocalist Joe Dokken, whom you also can find in the band Soulshelter. And while I have no clue if he is related to the more famous Don Dokken, Eden sure can be compared to the band Dokken. 80's metal, the melodic way. Fans of Ratt, Dokken and Whitecross should check this band out.

This album was getting a lot of recognition on the internet due to the fact that Rex Carroll (ex-Whitecross) is playing on it. But although it was originally released in 1994, it was not available on CD before 2003. And I must say that it's a shame that this gem didn't get a fair change earlier, because the album is great! It's takes you back to the melodic metal sound of the mid-80's, reminiscent of bands like Dokken, Ratt and Whitecross. The latter is of course due to the contribution from the mentioned Mr. Carroll. I love the great hooks and melodies. The songwriting skills are top-notch, giving us heartfelt lyrics to compliment these awesome tunes. Favorites include the beautiful ballad, and title track, "Fan The Flame". But also more rocking tunes like "Love Rolls On". I give this album my warmest recommendations, and hope to hear more from this band soon!
