The band was initially known as Eternity, and formed in 1985. Later on they had to change name due to legal reasons. They released 2 demos on their own, as well as 2 full-length albums, before the name change. 'Zodiac', their first official album, came out in 1994. Two more albums ensued, 1995's 'Mind Games' and 1997's 'The Edge' (released after the name change). Each album contained a new lineup, although this was always unintentional. All 3 albums have seen various re-releases over the years. Also a fourth album, named 'From The Ashes', was recorded in 1999, but has yet to see the light of day. After a lengthy hiatus Eternity X once more returned in 2006.Entitled the "Comeback Kid" by a prominent European music magazine singer/songwriter Keith Sudano have kept the name Eternity X alive.

A concept album about...eh, do I really have to tell? It's quite obvious. As with the other Eternity X records this is a bit different. Not so progressive, but rather more of a hard rock oriented. It's still Eternity X though. I like this also, but it's the CD I listen the least to. 'Sagittarius' is my favorite. (I wonder why?!!) My version is a 1998 re-release, but the album originally came out in 1994, when the band was still named Eternity.

This is the heaviest Eternity X CD. It reminds me of older Queensr˙che. The keyboard is scaled down. The cover looks like a chess-board, so I thought this was the theme for this concept-album. I was wrong. It's about the struggles man face in a lifetime. And the things that can influence us in a 'wrong' way. Well, the record is a good one, although I seem to loose interest in it after a while. The three first songs are the best ones.

I can't seem to figure out quite why my CD looks the way it does. It's a re-release from 1998, but the cover is from the 1995 Eternity version. The re-release, which also contains 2 bonus-tracks, was released by Angular Records, but my copy looks like it is self released by the bands own label. If anybody can explain, please contact me.

The first Eternity X album I bought, and sadly so far the last one they've released. This is truly an amazing record. Again we're talking about a concept album. This time about people on the verge of madness. 'The Edge' is in my opinion their best record. "Fly Away" and the spine-chilling "The Confession" is two of the best songs ever written. Eternity X changes styles a bit from album to album, and on this one I would compare them to Zak-era Savatage, Jacobs Dream and maybe a bit of Queen. This is prog metal in it's truest sense. It's not always about the most complex musicianship. It's more about the music never standing still. Rather they venture on in different directions all the time, taking unexpected twists and turns all the time, leaving the listener wondering where they'll go next. And Keith's vocals will take you for some surprising rides throughout the album too. But there is always some sort musical red thread running all along. My only complaint on this record is the production. Eternity X never hit the big time, and I think with a bigger record company these guys would have reached further. And with a larger company backing them, more money could be spent on creating a richer sound for them. But the album is worth the band-members weight in gold, so don't hesitate if you ever find anything by these guys. By now this band seems to be almost forgotten. But for me they are one of the best prog-metal bands you'll probably never hear.
