Evanescence first took shape in Little Rock, Arkansas at the end of the '90s. Founders were Ben Moody and Amy Lee. They are now one of the biggest rock bands in the world. Some call them nu-metal, others call them goth. So a mix of the modern hard rock styles, with the distinct, haunting vocals from Amy, is what this band deliver.

There are very few of the modern rock band that I like. Evanescence is the exception to the rule. I can't help getting sucked in to their music, mostly due to the beautiful haunting vocals from Amy Lee. I find the entire album here enjoyable. And I don't even mind the fact that there are some rap-parts here and there either. In the end, I'm a sucker for emotional albums, and this CD fits that description perfectly. And I guess I'm not the only one, as this album have been sold in millions worldwide, and the first 4 songs of the album have already become top 10 singles.
The song "Tourniquet" was originally recorded by Soul Embraced, the band Rocky Gray (the bands drummer from 2003-2007) was in prior to joining Evanescence. The original is a melodic death metal song, so Evanescence's version is very different.
Killer tracks: Going Under, Bring Me To Life, My Immortal, Tourniquet
