Global Warning from Snohomish, Washington, USA, came together when the thrash metal band, Disinterment, folded in 1998. Some of the members wanted to go in a more melodic route, thus they formed Global Warning. A demo, entitled "After The Fall", was released the same year, and a year later they recorded their self titles debut. The band underwent several changes, both musically, and member wise. 2 members left and formed If But For One in 2001.

'Global Warning' is the self titled debut from this Washington band, independently released in 2000.
Global Warning plays a blend of heavy metal and hard rock. I'm guessing that they are an all out metal act, but something went wrong in the production of this album, and the result is an overall tame sound. This independent release, which contains at least 2 demo-recordings (or at least that's what I'm guessing), sounds a tad unfinished. But with even more skilled songwriting, and a few really killer tracks, Global Warning might be on to something. This isn't bad, but perhaps a bit uninspiring. And that is a shame, because this band wants to share a message. The production is also in desperate need of more punch.
I really liked this album when I first bought it, as the music reminded me of classic Christian metal, and bands like Titanic and Rev Seven. Sadly, time has not been good to this CD. And listening back to it now I'm hard pressed to find anything that urges me to press play once more when the CD stops.
