A fine way to break in a band; simply record a mini-album, or EP. This Finnish true metal act did just that. I ended up with it, after doing a trade with a non-Christian dude, running a Christian metal site!! Anyhow, the music is OK, nothing groundbreaking, but a good start. They almost sound as if they try too much, and are not yet skilled to fully get accepted as a serious band. Kudos for trying though, and I bet their next effort will sound even more mature. It's cool to have a Christian band that play this kind of music!

After a promising first EP, Hallowed try one more time. This time they release a 4 track demo. I'm not sure if this was originally released on a silver pressed CD. All I got in a CDR, with a copied cover. The picture on the cover seems like someone just blew up a much smaller picture of the band, to the size of the front cover. The music follows nicely along the same path as the debut. This is melodic, yet powerful heavy metal, with loads of Euro-metal flavors. Again I find it to be somewhat lacking, but I'm not quite sure what it is. The vocals maybe? Michael has a rough voice, that is never out of key or anything. But he is missing that something extra to make him sound unique. Too bad this was to be the last effort from these guys. In time they could have been an interesting band to follow. Some of the members went on to join Random Eyes.
