Harmony were founded by Markus Sigfridsson (guitars) and Tobias Enbert (drums) in 2000. Added musical student Herik Båth as their singer.  Their musical direction was found, deciding on playing straight, melodic heavy metal, and the band recorded their first and only demo in 2001. For the recordings of the debut album it was really the time to complete the line up to a full band. On keyboards the guys recruited Magnus Holmberg, also a musical student and friend of singer Henrik. New bassist was found in Andreas Olsson.

Harmony's debut album shows a young and fresh band. These skilled musicians offer some wonderful hooks and melodies. Their Swedish neo-classical metal, ala Malmsteen and Narnia, isn't exactly ground-breaking, but because they throw in some prog. influences, akin to bands like Magnitude 9, makes them a band worth lending your ears to. Many of the songs seem to grow on me with time. My biggest complaint must be that there are way to many instrumental-tracks on the album. I can't say that I find that many elements that should convince you to check this band out, rather than any other band in this genre. But I know you won't regret it, if you choose to do so.

Harmony returns after a 5 year hiatus! Their aptly entitled second release sees them venture on where the debut left off.

Yes, this is another mix of progressive, melodic power metal, with neo-classical influences. Once again I think Narnia is a band they must tolerate to be compared with, even though they no longer share a bass-player with said band. This is well played and well written music, played with heart and conviction. 'Chapter II: Aftermath' is filled with catchy songs that makes you wanna spin the disc over and over. Some might point out that there is nothing groundbreaking on this CD, but when did being inventive become the be-all, end-all for a metal band? I fell in love with metal for the powerful and memorable songs from the '80s. It's music that makes you wanna sing along while throwing your fist up in the air. And these songs makes me wanna do just that! This is a darn fine melodic power metal album, period!

Harmony don't hide the fact that they are a band with Christian members. I love the upfront lyrics, and the fact that they never come across as preachy. Just honest and heartfelt. 'Chapter II: Aftermath' might be one of the best albums in this genre you've probably never heard. So if you ever get the chance to buy it, don't hesitate!
