True metal band from Denmark, that can be traced back as far as 1995. First they were named Misery, then Decades Of Darkness. They have played doom metal, and death metal, before settling on true heavy metal. That was in 1998, and Iron Fire saw the light of day.

Scream Magazine gave this debut album a good review, so I checked them out. I was not disappointed, but I wasn't quite satisfied either. This band obviously got a record deal because of the success true metal has had since Hammerfall broke through. And if you mix Hammerfall and Running Wild, you'll know exactly what these guys sound like. They are just not as good as any of those bands. Then again, Iron Fire is still a young band. So maybe they'll improve more with age. Again, not a bad album, but there are so many better ones in this genre.

Iron Fire continue their true metal crusade, but they do not follow up their debut with an equally solid album. Seems to me this record was released to hasty, and the songwriting suffers. They also seem determined to experiment a little, so the true metal tag is no longer a description that fits on all of the tunes. The song "Miracle" for example, sound more like a hair metal ballad! But the real Achilles' heal here is the vocals. Martin has this annoying vocal style, that sounds like he is whining, more than wailing.
