Bizarre black metal hybrid from Indonesia! Formed in Jakarta in 1995.

KEKAL - CHAOS & WARFARE (2002) FEAR DARK

Kekal are an odd band in many different ways. First of all they are form Indonesia, not exactly the metal capitol of the world. Secondly, the members of this band are Christians. That makes this duo even more "special". And if you have listened to their music, you know they sound like no other band either. So it is easy to say that this band is unique! Kekal's music is rooted within the extreme areas of heavy metal. They combine black metal, with these industrial samples and weird noises. They also use varied vocal-styles, from clean to the more shrieking voices. On 'Chaos & Warfare', a split-CD which also features Slechtvalk, they deliver 3 of their own tracks, and 1 cover of Trouble's "The Skull". All in all I find their music somewhat intriguing, but it also lacks that certain something that makes me want to come back for more. I'm not sure I'll investigate that much in any of the bands other releases after spinning this one. But if I ever come across a cheap CD or two with Kekal, you'll never know.
