Swedish metal band, playing neo-classical, progressive metal. Started under the name Lab Rat, but changed their name, and landed a record deal (wonder why? hehe). Similar to Kenziner, Magnitude 9 and Yngwie Malmsteen.

After being blown away by 'Majestic Overture' I started to search for Majestic's other titles. Then I was lucky enough to score this digi-pack edition of their debut-album. It even contains a bonus-tracks! This album is also OUTSTANDING! Why these guys aren't a household metal name will remain a mystery to me! Everything sounds good here. Jonas' voice is incredible, the guitar-work fits nicely to the music, heck I even like the instrumentals! There is no other way to describe how good this is, so just GET IT FOR YOURSELF!!
Killer tracks: Golden Sea, Standing Alone, Crimson Sun, Black Moon Rising, Shadows From Beyond, Seekers Battlefield
MAJESTIC OVERTURE (2000)
MASSACRE

Line-up: Magnus Nordli - Guitars Martin Wesowski - Bass Apollo - Vocals Peter Wildoer - Drums Richard Andersson - Keyboards |
I bought this CD unheard. I had no knowledge about the band, except that they played metal. So imagine the surprise when this turned out to be, hands down, the best melodic neo-classical metal album I own!! Majestic has got to be the most underrated band, EVER. They are fabulous musicians, and great songwriters. If you like this kind of music, you know that there are many talented bands in this genre. But these Swedes blow away all competition! They should reach just as far as Symphony X, if there is any justice in the world! BUY OR REGRET!!!!
November 2002: Now that I've also heard the debut album, I'm surprised how similar they sound. The only 2 remaining members are the bass- and keyboard-players, and still the music sounds exactly the same! Well, as long as they continue to crank out quality metal, I'm not complaining!
Killer tracks: Another one you just don't pick songs from!
