This is a cool re-release of an old out of print classic. Unfortunately the re-release is also out of print since long ago, but I finally scored one true a good friend on the No Life 'Til Metal/Metal Metropolis board (thanks, Ben). The original LP of 'The Day Of Retribution' was released on a small Swedish label. This Metal Blade version sees the album for the first time on CD, and also adding 2 bonus tracks. Nemesis were the band Leif Edling first started. And you can already hear that this man is a genius in writing Black Sabbath inspired, yet melodic and heavy, doom metal. "Black Messiah" later became the song "Incarnation Of Evil", from the 'Ancient Dreams' album. The 2 demos also resurfaced on later Candlemass albums. The only thing that holds this CD back is the vocals. Leif is a mean writer and bass-player, but he cannot sing that well.

Killer tracks: Black Messiah, Demons Gate
