Melodic power metal from France. Originally starting out as early as 1979, they first got noticed as openers for Def Leppard in Grenoble in 1983. The year after saw the release of their debut album, but after only 1 more album they disband in 1987. This was due to financial and health problems. But in 1999 the group re-emerged, and are currently making a name for themselves again.

There are just so many bands out there, some of them just have to be overlooked. Nightmare is such a band. I cannot believe that they've been around since the 80's, and I never even heard about them. Well, they are back again, and I discovered them through this release. I read the review in Scream Magazine, and started to search for the CD. I ended up getting it from a Russian trader, getting the Russian version of the CD. The music is melodic power metal, and at first it didn't sound that good to me. But after more spins I discovered some good song. The album seems to sound more melodic after each listen. Nightmare also incorporates an almost baroque sound, adding a bit of mystique to the music. Refreshingly and unique, but maybe still one who's gonna drown a little in the collection.
Killer tracks: Corridors Of Knowledge, The Church, Necropolis
