A storm of Swedish metal bands were upon us. Hammerfall led the troops, but a tail of other bands followed. Steel Attack, Nocturnal Rites, Wolf and Nostradameus are some of them. Similar for all of them is, too me, that I couldn't get in to their stuff until I had heard an album several times. And Nostradameus is the prime example. I bought their first 2 CD's at the same time, and started listening to this, their first. I did not like what I heard, but gave it a second spin. The vocalist sounded out of key, and the music was copy-cat material. So after some more spins, I was ready to give up, and get rid of these albums. But then I tried listening to it one more time, before I should write these reviews, or sell it. Suddenly some new listening doors opened, and I started liking the album. The vocals didn't bother me, and the songs were actually pretty good. It's nothing new or revolutionary here, but all in all a decent heavy metal album. Now, try guessing what this concept is about! I should also mention that Joacim Cans, singer for Hammerfall, does a guest appearance on the last track.

After a huge line-up change, the Swedes return with another album. And although half the members are new faces, not much else is different. It's still classic heavy metal, with hooks and riffs. I kinda like the first album a bit better, but this one has better production though. Having a name such as Nostradameus, it kinda narrows down what the lyrics are about. So I wonder what these guys come up with next. Still this album is not a concept-album, but I think most of the songs are about the man who gave this band it's name.
"Scream Of Anger", a cover of a Europe song, is a bonus track for the limited edition of "The Prophet Evil". Mine doesn't look like a limited edition though...
