When the Howard brothers wanted to resurrect Incubus in 1997, another band had already copyright to the name. So they simply changed it. But the music is still the same, except for a little bit more thrash influences. It's still great brutal metal, and Opprobrium has an awesome sound, that comes to it's rights on this album. The production is crystal clear, thus making 'Discerning Forces' one of the most played death metal album in my house. This band has to be one of the best bands in this genre. And to top it all off, their lyrics talk boldly of their beliefs. Even the cover art  is awesome. I could have sworn that it was Andreas Marschall's work (Blind Guardian, In Flames etc.), but it's actually made by Kristian Wĺhlin (Tad Morose, Dissection, Antestor etc.). Simply another must!

I've read that Luiz Carlos didn't have time to learn the material before the recordings of this album, and that André Luiz didn't join until the recordings were done. Thus the actual line-up on this album seems to be the Howard brothers.
