True heavy metal from Australia. They started out in 1993, and released 2 albums themselves before scoring a record deal with Nuclear Blast. Similar in style with Manowar, Sacred Steel and Steel Attack.

Now that I've enjoyed 'Breaking The Chains' for quite some time, it's time to widen the Pegazus collection. 'Wings Of Destiny' is the bands second album, and my version is the re-released Nuclear Blast version. It has a different cover (penned by the infamous Andreas Marschall) than the original version, initially released by the band themselves. The music is catchy and easy to get into. Nothing is groundbreaking, but it's definitely metal! Danny's voice is what's separating these guys from the rest of the wanna-bee's. Because the Aussie leather-clad boys are really balancing on the edge of being quite pathetic. In my opinion they do pull it off, and that's why I give this album quite a lot of spins.

I never really took a liking to this band when I first heard them. But then I heard this album through a friend. And from the first track, "Metal Forever", I was hooked. Pegazus play the truest form of heavy metal, and with a vocalist like Danny Cecati, these guys have an edge! Powerful and beautiful, fast and melodic. Not all the songs are as good as the opening anthem, but as a whole, this album smokes! My digi-pack version also contains the Helloween cover "A Little Time", as a bonus track (it has also been released on a Helloween tribute CD). Are you looking for bands similar to Manowar, look no further! METAL FOREVER!!!!!
Killer tracks: Metal Forever, Queen Evil, Breaking The Chains, Apache Warrior
Trivia: I were supposed to see this band live in Germany once. It was at a Rock Hard festival, and Pegazus opened the show. But we came to late, and missed this band entirely. But we saw Hammerfall, Symphony X, Savatage a.o., so I didn't think more about it. After the concert, I was lucky enough to meat Savatage backstage. This extremely long-haired dude sat and talked to Jon Oliva, and I approached them with my stack of stuff to be signed. This dude pulled out a promo-photo of Savatage, and asked me how I got it. I told him, and the fellow seemed eager to see what else was in my stack. When Jon was finished, I walked away, overhearing this guy asking Jon if they could record something together some time. Then it hit me; the guy was Danny Cecati, vocalist for Pegazus. The interest he showed in my stuff was probably to see if I had anything for him to sign in there, but I didn't even recognize the dude!!!
