A virtually unknown band, in my book. But a quick search on the internet, and I discovered this to be their second effort. This promo (with just a single sheet, with the track list, and address to the record company on it!) was given to me in a trade. And I wasn't sure what to expect. But this band turned out to be the surprise of the century!! Phantom Lord is not a lame Metallica cover-band, like the name might suggest. No, they are a talented power metal band, with great melodies, good riffs, and a VERY good vocalist! After a short intro they blast into a speed metal frenzy, called "Rulers Of The Past". Next is the powerful title-track, with some very catchy verse-lines. Ad so the album continues, balancing between power metal, speed metal and thrash. I could have sworn that this band came from the US, but all info I can find, points to them being from Greece. But there is no hint of bad accent anywhere. I would describe them as a mix between US power metal, and German melodic metal. If you are into bands like Angel Dust, Brainstorm, Iron Maiden etc, Phantom Lord will be right up your alley. And I promise you a sore neck!

Killer tracks: Rulers Of The Past, Evil's Domain, Everlasting Curse, Lost Grace, Unchained
