Daniel Olaisen formed Scariot in Kristiansand, Norway, in 1997, after a couple of years being the live guitarist in Satyricon. The music however, was far from black metal, but rather metal music combining several different elements.  Because of an ever evolving line-up problem, Scariot is today a studio band only.

It seems that I constantly try to get the message out that Norway's metal scene is far more then just a bunch of church burning, panda make-up wearing black metal elitists. Scariot is one of the mot exciting bands that have graced the metal movement in Norway. Fronted by the stellar shredder, Daniel Olaisen, they play a form of progressive heavy metal, not unlike what Nevermore are doing. Of course, Oddleif Stensland (now in Communic) has been likened to Warrel Dane on more than one occasion. However, Scariot is a lot heavier than Communic, and the intense guitar work delivered here often reminds me of a progressive version of Testament. 'Strange To Numbers' is the bands 3rd album. And it is the kind of CD you might wanna visit on numerous occasions before you makeup your mind about it. There is so much happening, and you discover new little details on every listen. I am loving every second of this album, and cannot stress enough how underrated this band really is! If you are a fan of a twisted, but extremely well played hybrid of power metal and thrash, then this band is for you.

Killer tracks: I love them all!
