Norwegian melodic metal band with some progressive elements. Hailing out of Skien, this band is more or less disband. Most of the members can now be found in Pagan's Mind.

One cool thing about having this website is that sometimes people send me free CD's. Well, someone had visited my Pagan's Mind page, and was wondering if I had heard Silverspoon. When I told him no, he sent me this album. Thanks to Øyvind Docksrød for being so kind! The album starts of with a progressive metal tune that just grabbed my attention from first go. This song was actually better than all the songs on the first Pagan's Mind album in my opinion. Unfortunately the rest of the album did not live up to the quality of the opener. The progressive elements are not present on the other songs. The band reminds me more of acts like Firehouse or Ratt on the remaining tracks. Some of them are decent enough, making this a worth wile record to own. But I would recommend listeners to check out Pagan's Mind first, and maybe try to get this one as a supplement to the collection. I might get flogged for such a statement, because this really is two separate bands, but i still think the links between the 2 are so obvious, it's no way to get around it. Silverspoon have also played together as a KISS cover band on occasions, so that might explain the addition of the cover-track "I Was Made For Loving You". "Sunset Strip" also contains excerpts from the classic 60's rock songs "Hound Dog", "Johnnie B.Goode", "Jambalaya" and "Great Balls Of Fire". A bad idea indeed!
Killer tracks: Sink Or Swim (this track alone is worth the money!), Vanished Love, Tell Me
