In 1994(ish), in the quiet town of Geelong-Victoria, Australia, a band (previously) named Terrormaze was formed. The style of music played as Terrormaze was that of a heavy melodic thrash nature. There were 2 demo releases at this point with a strong Megadeth and Metallica musical influence. At this time the band was facing different life issues and had to find the meaning to their existence. Through a Christian band called Tourniquet, they were introduced to God, and their questions were answered. The now Holy Spirit driven band, renamed themselves to Teramaze.
TERAMAZE. Used in the metric [decimal] system as one trillion and billion fold or a million million. The metric symbol for tera- is T. Greek term meaning ‘marvel' with the sense that this is a huge and marvelous quantity." A maze is a complex tour puzzle in the form of a complex branching passage through which the solver must find a route.

'Doxology' is almost like a hidden gem in the thrash metal scene. This debut album delivers some very good melodic thrash metal, not unlike that of early Deliverance. It is also one of those albums that grows on you, so that with each spin you seem to like it even more. Man, I miss the days when speed metal, power metal and thrash metal sounded this good! The only downsides to this disc are: 1. It is really hard to come by, as it was only released in Australia. 2. Out of the 13 tracks present some of the songs are easily forgotten. I like the cool intro though. And I absolutely love the worship song, entitled "Engraved". I wish more bands would record songs like that.

This Australian band started out playing thrash metal. But for whatever reason, they wanted to change the formula a bit for this, their second release. So here we get progressive metal. At first I wasn't so intrigued by the music on 'Tears To Dust'. The songs didn't appeal to me. But after spinning it over and over, I now can say I like it. The songs that are good are really good. They have a worship quality that is quite rare in metal. The passion these guys have for our Lord is shining through. I still say some of the songs are a bit generic though. But I just don't spend the same amount of time on those, as there is more good songs than bad on the album. "Ever Enhancing" also appeared on the band's first album, but then it went under another title. Apparently this band also recorded one more album, but as they had evolved away from metal and adopted a more modern sound, they didn't even get label support any longer.
