What happens when members of Lightmare, Seventh Avenue and Chryztyne get together to jam on some of their old favorite tunes from the past? The result is Treasure Seeker. Unlike some tribute albums out there, these guys actually to justice to the original songs.

TRIBUTE TO THE PAST (1998, 2001) MEGAHARD

Treasure Seeker's only album consists of 9 cover-songs and one song originally written by the band. Too bad they never released more original material, because they definitely had something going for them. The band was made up of members from Seventh Avenue, Lightmare and Chryztyne. I've read that a new album was planned, and if I'm not mistaken even recorded, but it never got to see the light of day on CD. But I do like the covers featured here also. Being a fan of the so-called white metal movement, it's really nice to se a talented band do a tribute to some of the most important bands of that era. And when you have such a great voice as Olaf Hayer (last heard in Dionysus and on Luca Turilli's solo albums), then you know you're in for a treat. He sings every song close to perfect! When push comes to show, this isn't such a regular player. I have almost all of the tracks in their original form, and I tend to play them in stead of these cover versions. But the disc is still a cool item for the collection. My version is a Brazilian reissue.
