More a project than a band, Tribuzy is the brainchild of one Renato Tribuzy. At the early age of 12 he started an Iron Maiden cover band, and 4 years later. After 4 years he formed a new band, together with some friends, called Horizon. The band obtained a good reputation. They were the first metal band from Rio de Janeiro in receiving the support of a small label, and released their first CD. Shortly after the band disappears and Tribuzy begins in 1997 with a band called Thoten. The same year the band records one demo, and then in 2001 they release their first album, 'Beyond Tomorrow'. The following year the album is also released in Europe, plus countries like Taiwan and Mexico. The album was produced by Kiko Loureiro (guitarist of Angra). After extensive touring, though both South-America and Europe Tribuzy begins to work in different projects. Consequently he decides to leave Thoten, and concentrate on his 'Execution'. His lifelong dream of getting many of his own musical heroes to participate on his album finally come true, and in 2005, Tribuzy's 'Execution' sees the light of day.

You're probably already familiar with Avantasia, Ayreon, Aina and Nikolo Kotzev's Nostradamus. So here you've got the next addition to the family, namely Tribuzy. Now you know that we are talking about a project, more so then a band. You also know we're talking about bringing in lots of famous names from the metal world, and giving them their spots on the CD. There is one difference here though. It doesn't seem like 'Execution' is a concept album. I've read that Renato's goal was to create music somewhere in-between Judas Priest's 'Painkiller' and Helloween's 'Keep Of The Seven Keys'. And I have to say, that is exactly what he have done. Of course in 2007 we are calling this music power metal. I think he have come up with an intriguing album, filled with music that is both exciting and fresh, but still moves in familiar territories. Most of the songs are over 5 minutes long. But none of them gets boring, much due to the dynamics in the song writing. And having some of the more distinct names guest-playing on your album doesn't exactly hurt either. Now Renato is a stellar singer in his own right. But there is something special about hearing Michael Kiske and Bruce Dickinson's contributions here, to name a few. Other contributors on the CD are Mat Sinner and Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear, helping out on the cover of Sinner's "Nature Of Evil"), Denis Ward (Pink Cream 69), Roland Grapow and Roy Z (maybe more knows as a producer, but also from Band Of Gypsies). The liner-notes tells me that Tribuzy has a full line-up. But at the same time they credit Kiko Loureiro (Angra) and Chris Dale (Balance Of Power) as guests on all the songs. And I have no problem recognizing the guitar-skills of Kiko throughout this album. So I guess this means that he is the lead guitarist here, while the latter plays bass on the entire CD. 'Execution' has become a really good effort, bound to please any fan of real metal. I know I've come back to the CD again and again, discovering new gems and hidden nuggets on each listen.
