Violated started out in late 2004, in Kristiansund, Norway. Four metalheads with a mutual goal and taste in music joined forces. All came from various death and black metal bands, and some of them had even played together in the past. But now they wanted to play thrash metal, and set out to record their first demo. It was named 'Bearing The Weight Of The world', and was released in October of 2005. Little happened, as only a handful copies was ever released. The next year saw the recording of a second demo, a more Bay Area oriented thrash metal platter. It was called 'Reign Of Violence'. In 2007 the band changed their drummer, but nothing more happened until 2009, when the band started to write and record for their first full-length album. Some of the songs were featured on the 'Outbreak Of Metal Vol. II' split-CD.

The second band on the second installation of the 'Outbreak Of Metal'-series hails from my native Norway. The mid-west part of the country can be a hostile place to live, with all kinds of unhindered weather blowing in from the North Atlantic Oceans. Maybe that is why these guys have chosen such an aggressive musical approach. Coming form various black and death metal acts from the region, these 4 guys were brought together by a mutual will to play extreme thrash metal.

I have not heard the bands 2 demo-recordings, but on this split CD they are blowing up a frenzy with their relentless thrash metal approach. Slayer is the first band I think of when songs like "Out Of Focus" and "Vengeance Of Time" kicks in. The brutality never stops, and every instrument is an assault to the senses, as they should be with this kind of music. The band is not hiding their influences, so expect hints of both black metal, and some modern extreme metal in general. This is still a full-on thrash metal band though. 5 of these songs are recorded for inclusion on Violated's upcoming debut album. The last track is a demo version of a song I think is exclusive to this spilt CD.
